The relationship with the House Dior dates 1973, with the meeting between Jean-Pierre Frère, decorator and designer, who had been given carte blanche from Christian Dior himself to open a table – and house – ware boutique for the House, creating ‘lifestyle’ accessories for the boutique, and Nino Dell'Acqua, father of Aldo, the founder of Eldorado.
Since back then, Eldorado has been creating collections of acrylic design objects for Dior. Plateaux Cannage Dior Gravé, a collection of acrylic trays engraved with the classic Dior cannage pattern, changing in colors and sizes every season.
Cannage Provence, a collection of trays made with special acrylic sheets where natural wicker is embedded inside them through a special technique. Placemats, trays, centrepieces, baskets, boxes, frames. The mix show between natural wicker and clear acrylic is something special and unique.
The innovative idea to conserve natural essence products within a transparent acrylic shell proved successful in the 70’s, when the Ligne Écologique was created after having gone through many variations and studies. The plat à fromage avec épis de blé - a 16 inches round tray decorated with ears of wheat – is still on sale in the historic headquarters of the Parisian fashion house located at 30 Avenue Montaigne, over 40 years after its first appearance. These articles are part of the history of the greatest fashion brands.
